Introducing a few of our key staff
Sherry Joseph is the President of CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE a
nonprofit organization.
She brings, behind her great CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE smile 33 years of professional work with children
and families.
Sherry graduated from the University of Minnesota receiving a BS degree in education and has13 years teaching experience as a classroom teacher grades K-8. As a teacher she saw the need for children to have happy,
stable, safe places in their lives where they had the ability and desire to grow enabling them to succeed in school. For those that didn’t find that safe place at home learning regularly became a distraction to the most basic needs of survival and acceptance. For children faced with such realities often alternative safe places, and parental type compassion and support is sought in the wrong places like gangs etc.
Ms. Joseph, worked extra hard to be a positive alternative safe, stable place at school going the extra mile and helped many children find and stay on the path to success. She dreamed of finding a way teachers could be supported in their goals to be great educators by helping all children have the tools and support they need to reach their
potentials and feel safe, accepted and important while attending school. Thus teachers could spend their time focused on educating children ready and willing to learn,
grow, and benefit from their dedicated efforts and feel accomplishment right along with the appreciative students.
Sherry, left the public school system to open her own business, which has helped hundreds of children develop physically, emotionally, and mentally, while building self- esteem and confidence.
Ms. Joseph wants to help make a greater impact on our society, today, by helping children and adults have access to the necessary tools to develop needed skills and attitudes. This will enable them to be productive, happy, contributing citizens for our country and world. To accomplish these goals she has chosen to lead the CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE non-profit organization. She feels these goals can be best accomplished through strategically working alongside companies like YouthHealth USA Inc. as part of a National shared common goal and campaign labeled Choose2BPositive (C2BP).
Sherry is a single mother of five successful children. Her middle daughter graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University. Her youngest son and daughter are
still attending college; both on academic scholarships. All of her children are motivated to succeed, and contribute to society in positive ways. Sherry knows that good parenting is not easy. Tools and support systems are critical to family success, no matter what the family composition. She wants to be able to raise the needed funds to get these tools and support systems into classrooms and families free of charge across America, to help build a better world for everyone.

Kalli Delaney, Age 25 Director of CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE a
non-profit organization.
Kalli, was born and raised in beautiful San Diego. She grew up in a very close-knit family and considers herself to be extremely
fortunate to have such an ideal upbringing. Because of this, She has been able to thrive both scholastically as well as socially.
As a result, I am a staunch believer in that all adolescents should be provided with the same foundation and opportunities, and therefore strive to help them share the same experience by offering ample support and encouragement in any way possible.
I am currently a senior at Arizona State University, working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education, English, at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers’ College.
After working in the field for several years, I plan on attending graduate school to obtain a Master’s degree in Special Education. Helping others better
themselves through improving and solidifying self-esteem, furthering their education, and expanding their perspectives has always been a passions of hers. Consequently, all aforementioned components begin at home; therefore, if one does not have a firm foundation in the familial sphere, thus a highly supportive family, I believe
that it is rather challenging to posses said qualities and thrive in our ever-changing world. I am an advocate for providing adolescents with a voice and am a firm believer in that each and every one of them deserves to be heard.
The youth are our future and we must all work together in establishing and enhancing all adolescents by paying them amplified attention and providing them all the support necessary to reach their full potential especially when there is less or no proper family support systems regardless of economic stature.

Kienan Turner age 23 Director of CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE a
non-profit organization.
Mr. Turner was born in Indio California. Moved to Gilbert/Chandler in Arizona with my Dad when he was six. He has played sports all his life. His choices of sports are Basketball, Football, Track, and lacrosse. Sports were my
outlet to life and I like most kids thought of playing professionally however I caught on that even if I did having an education would help me keep what I earned and have a strategy beyond sports for success so I took it seriously. I played football for Scottsdale Community College for two years. I graduated Scottsdale Community College with an Associate’s degree in Business Management. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors degree in Business Tourism from ASU. He is now pursuing a career within Marketing. ASU, He understands as a Mexican and Black mixed raced American he has seen and experienced what many can't fully grasp.
He is the first in his family to go to college let alone graduate and non of his minority friends ended up going to college. He recognizes the family is important and even with that everyone can still benefit from POSITIVE help and support. He has seen first hand that future tax payers are needed to keep America going and they are being lost because schools are stock in 30 year ago strategies and not adjusting to help current needs and support kids in ways that are specific to them for example when there is no family support. CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE moves opens a forest of success where good choices become natural and all of us benefit when good choices are made.

Darrell Alfson a 81 Director of CHOOSE TO BE POSITIVE a
non-profit organization
After obtaining a BA degree from Wartrtburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Darrell went into retail management in several different national retail companies. This experience included merchandising, operation, human resources, and planning.
Next was a career spanning 30 years with Sears in catalog and distribution. Included customer service, planning, budgeting and training. The final 5 years with Sears was highlighted with team building and quality improvement.
Part of the responsibility was to work with employee’s having problems, often because of difficulty relating to their children. Every year we would hire teen’s to work, many in their first job. So I learned that the first 18 years of a child’s life was often filled with poor self-confidence, unable to deal with rules and structure and uncertain of the future.
For two years I volunteered as a Senior Companion in a Phoenix senior center and saw the experience, time, patience and often the need for the senior’s to relate to another generation. An ideal source of power to bring positive responses in a child’s life.
